About the project

Arabic calligraphy becomes a major art form throughout the Islamic world being codified by prestigious masters for centuries.

Arabic calligraphy has gone from practical to beautiful; It is no longer just a means of sharing information, but also an art form and an important part and strong element of our cultural identity.

Throughout these changes, Arabic calligraphy has evolved from a simple method of written communication to an art form assuming its decorative role.

Today, as an artist with a fairly diversified cultural background, I wanted to contribute to my way of developing this art and freeing the letter from its stilted normative aspect to see it dissolve totally or in part in a primarized chromaticism and underline its strong symbolic dimension.

My goal through the Serie ASSALA is to convey messages of peace, community unity and the abolition of stereotypes, and to show my great appreciation for Arabic calligraphy.

The art of calligraphy has always impressed me especially because of the gesture that accompanies it, celebrating in parallel its aesthetic approach with the use of the forms of traditional Arabic letters in modern art through my artistic vision.
